Description

I’m a lady in my 30s living in the Sandfields area of Port Talbot with my 2 children. I’ve had a stroke which has affected my mobility. It’s also affected my speech slightly. I can walk with the help of a mobility aid but have to use a wheelchair over long distances. I’m very family oriented and love spending time with my kids. I also enjoy going out and shopping. I would like to find a PA to help me with meal preparation, keeping on top of chores as well support me to go swimming, attending Stroke Group on a Wednesday and other activities.

Purpose

  • Support me with (not do for) Light domestic duties i.e. laundry, hoovering etc.
  • Supporting me with attending Stroke Group on a Wednesday
  • Support me to go swimming
  • Push my wheelchair when out
  • Access the community for other activities, including shopping
  • Support me to put my leg brace and sock on
  • Meal Preparation

Person Type

A person who:

  • Is confident, approachable and friendly
  • Is calm and down to earth
  • Someone comfortable working in a busy family home
  • Someone who will work with me to promote my independence
  • Someone proactive and who can work with me to do a variety of household tasks.
  • Someone who will treat me and my home with dignity and respect
  • Car driver preferred but not essential
  • No previous experience required.

This post may require a DBS check (the cost of which will be met by NPTCBC). If this post requires you to work with children then it is compulsory for you to have a DBS check prior to commencement.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
