Over 55% of our customers pay their Council Tax by Direct Debit. It is the easiest and most convenient method of payment with a choice of payment dates: 1st, 16th or 28th of each month. You can use our online form to set up a direct debit to pay your council tax.
If you have received a Reminder, Final Notice, Summons or any other Enforcement action you should NOT complete the online Direct Debit form but contact Council Tax Recovery on 01639 686188 (option 3) without delay.
Paying online is easy and secure and can be made via your Debit card. Just remember to have your bill to hand as you will need your reference number.
Other ways to pay your Council Tax
Use our 24 hour payment line number 0161 622 6919. We will need the following information
- Your Council Tax reference number which can be found on your bill
- Your debit card details
Payments can be taken over the counter at the following locations (Monday to Friday 9am to 12:00 and 1:00pm to 3.15pm):
- Cash office, Civic Centre, Neath;
- cash office, Civic Centre, Port Talbot;
We accept cash, cheques, chip and pin debit and credit cards as method of payment.
You can pay at any Post Office. You can only pay the full amount of the instalment due. You must take your council tax bill with you each time you make a payment. Please be aware your payment may not reach your account for a few days.
Cheque payments by post addressed to Cash Office, Civic Centre, Neath, SA11 3QZ. Please make cheques payable to Neath Port Talbot CBC and ensure you write your council tax reference and name and address on the back of your cheque.
