Margam Country Park and The Orangery named Tourism and Hospitality Business of the Year!

Staff at Neath Port Talbot Council’s Margam Country Park and The Orangery have been congratulated after winning Tourism and Hospitality Business of the Year at the Swansea Bay Business Awards 2020.
The annual awards celebrate the best in business and entrepreneurship across the Swansea Bay City Region in 14 different categories.
Staff from the park were on hand to pick up their prestigious award at the black tie awards ceremony in Swansea’s Brangwyn Hall on Friday 6th March.
The Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council, Cllr Rob Jones said: “This accolade is highly deserved as it showcases the success of Margam Country Park, one of Wales’s most popular attractions.
“There are a lot of exciting plans in place for the future of the Park. The Orangery for instance, the Park’s onsite wedding and events venue, will be undergoing refurbishment this year. This will help continue their status as one of the most prestigious venues in South Wales.
“Proposals are also in place to create a range of new major tourist attractions at the Park including an exciting new children’s play and splash park area and one of the longest zip wires in the UK.”
Councillor Peter Rees, Neath Port Talbot Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, Skills and Culture said: “This award is richly deserved for those who work hard to continue the Park’s status as one of the most visited venues in South Wales.
“As well as its natural beauty and rich heritage, Margam Country Park offers a range of activities for all visitors. Making it one of the best days out in Wales for all members of the family.”
To finish off a successful 2019, Margam Country Park hosted Luminate Wales - the first event of its kind to arrive in Wales. The event attracted tens of Thousands of people to Margam during the festive period to experience the exciting interactive light trail at the Green Heritage Awarded winning venue.
