Latest measures to tackle the spread of the coronavirus

Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation on Monday evening March 23rd.
In his statement, delivered from Downing Street, he announced strict new measures to tackle the spread of coronavirus.
People must now stay at home except for: shopping for necessities, obtaining medical supplies, one period of daily exercise, and travelling to and from essential work.
Shops selling non-essential goods were told to shut and gatherings in public of more than two people who do not live together are to be prohibited.
If people do not follow these new rules the PM announced police now have powers to enforce them.
