View NPT Council meetings online from this week
28 July 2020
From this week, members of the public and press will be able to view Neath Port Talbot Council meetings online using video conferencing technology.
There will be an option to observe the meetings live via Microsoft Teams by pre-registering to be part of the virtual public gallery, or to catch up with previous meetings, which the council will publish online shortly after they finish.
Cllr. Rob Jones, Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council said:
“In order to respect the current social distancing guidelines, meetings of the council, including planning, licensing, cabinet and scrutiny meetings, are taking place via Microsoft Teams, so that decisions can be made in a safe way.
“We are committed to maintaining transparency about our decision making process, therefore have made arrangements for members of the public and media to observe the meetings online."
The first meeting to be available in this way will be the Joint Committee of Cabinet and Social Care, Health and Wellbeing Scrutiny on Thursday 30 July, followed immediately by the meeting of Cabinet.
Anyone wishing to observe the meeting live via Microsoft Teams will need to register by 12 noon on Wednesday 29 July. To do this please email email@example.com and details of how to join the meeting will then be provided.
After meetings have ended, they will be published and available to view on the council’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/NeathPortTalbotCBC.
