Coronavirus - Cwm Nedd Primary and Coedffranc Primary
07 September 2020
The Council’s Test Trace Protect service is currently working to support two schools in the county borough following positive coronavirus test results.
One pupil at Cwmnedd Primary School has tested positive and subsequently, in line with Public Health Wales advice, seven other pupils and three members of staff will be required to self-isolate for 14 days. Parents of the children concerned have been contacted and advised of the appropriate process to follow.
The second confirmed case concerns a member of staff at Coedffranc Primary School, who attended the school during an inset day last Thursday, however no pupils were present at the time. Three further members of staff are currently isolating.
It is important to note that control and safety measures are in place and are being followed strictly in both schools to limit any further transmission. Staff at both schools acted promptly and in line with national guidance.
Both schools remain open and it is not necessary for any other child to self-isolate, stay away from school or to be tested, unless they develop symptoms of Covid-19.
