Neath Port Talbot Council’s Test, Trace, Protect (TTP) Service wants people to be aware of seven people found to have Covid-19 who were present during their infectious period at the Lamb and Flag pub in Wellfield Place, Glynneath, between June 27th and July 4th, 2021.
We are reminding anyone who attended the premises during these dates that it is not too late to get tested and should do so right away (even if you do not have symptoms).
Covid has an incubation period of between 2 – 14 days and therefore those who were at the premises may be infected but may be unaware or may not have symptoms.
We urge you to get a test as soon as possible.
Anyone with coronavirus symptoms (however mild) must remain at home both before and after having a test until such time as they have received a negative test result.
Their household members must also stay at home in a similar manner as doing this will help prevent the spread of the virus to family, friends, colleagues and the wider community and will also help protect the NHS.
You can now go for a free coronavirus test if you have a wider range of symptoms. These are:
• Flu-like symptoms including any or all of: myalgia (muscle ache or pain); excessive tiredness; persistent headache; runny nose or blocked nose; persistent sneezing; sore throat and/or hoarseness, shortness of breath or wheezing;
• Generally feeling unwell and a history of being in contact with a known COVID-19 case
• Any new or change in symptoms following a previous negative test
• Any symptom which is new, persistent and/or unusual for them.
Individuals who take a test because of these other wider symptoms are not legally required to isolate while they await their test result. However, Local Health Boards are encouraging the individual concerned to self-isolate while they await their test result, and children and adults with diarrhoea and/or vomiting should remain away from their school or setting until they are symptom free for 48 hours even if their COVID-19 test is negative.
If you get a positive Covid-19 result, you and your household must then isolate. Households must also isolate if anyone develops any of the 3 classic Covid-19 symptoms while waiting for a test result taken on wider symptoms to come back.
