A guided walk around Castell Nos HRA with project staff to look for bats, nightjar & other species in their natural habitats

This course will include an online presentation that will describe and discuss some key habitat and wildlife community features of the Lost Peatlands Landscape. This will be followed (on a separate day) by a field excursion based in the upland plateau area of Glyncastle Forest. In the field we will explore the ecology and biodiversity of a number of key habitats, particularly those in the non-forest component but also those associated with the dynamic forest management cycle. Emphasis will be placed on identifying and classifying habitats and their indicator species. Some important management issues will be outlined and case studies discussed.
