Bulky Items Collection

Important notice:

Please note we are only releasing limited slots every week.

The reason for this is that some staff in our waste and recycling team may need to be re-deployed to other essential duties at short notice to help provide regular collections.

By only offering limited booking slots, we don’t need to cancel and disappoint customers. Recycling Centres are open 7 days a week and are free to use. Please book a slot here.

Please bear with us during this difficult time and thank you for your patience.

We can arrange a collection for bulky items of household waste that are too big for your bin like mattresses, sofas, fridges and cookers.

There is a £22.50 charge for this service so before you book, please ensure you read the FAQs below.

We operate a fair use policy and we will only pick up a limited number of items per collection

What items do you collect

The types of items we will collect include:

  • furniture,
  • televisions and large electrical goods,
  • carpets,
  • white goods including washing machines, fridges and fridge freezers.

Items are recycled/reused where possible. We operate a fair use policy and we will only pick up a limited number of items per collection

We will not collect:

  • from Commercial Premises
  • garden waste;
  • clinical waste;
  • hazardous household waste;
  • asbestos;
  • trade waste;
  • broken glass;
  • tins of paint;
  • construction and demolition waste (building waste);
  • wall/floor tiles
  • general bags of refuse;
  • pianos;
  • boilers, gas bottles or oil tanks.

These items will be accepted from residents at the Household Waste Recycling Centres.

Yes, we will collect small items. The £22.50 charge is the same.

This is a kerbside collection so in most cases the items should be left where your rubbish is normally picked up from. However, if you present your waste in a rear lane then bulky items must be presented at the front of the property. This is because the vehicle may be too big to access the rear lane.

If you are unable to put out on the kerbside, Please make Customer Services aware of your circumstances (by calling us on 01639 686868) and an assessment will be made of the situation.

If when placed on the kerbside, items will block the pavement (or there is no pavement), items can be left at the edge of the property boundary such as end of the drive, just inside the garden.  This must be stated at the time of booking.
To make any changes to your collection, please phone customer services (01639) 686868 at least 48 hours before collection day. Please note we operate a fair use policy and we will only pick up a limited number of items per collection.
If the items are in good condition there are a number of charities who may be interested in taking the items to give to families in need. Our charity partner is the Enfys Foundation who can be contacted on 0845 009 4646.

You can also donate to our
Reuse Shop, located in the Briton Ferry Recycling Centre.
We operate a fair use policy and we will only pick up a limited number of items per collection. As we don’t offer a house clearance service you will need to arrange disposal of the items yourself.
You can cancel the collection and obtain a full refund as long as you inform us prior to the day of your collection date.

You will need to telephone us on 01639 686868 to cancel the collection and obtain a refund, as we are unable to offer this service online at this time.

When you book online, you will be offered a selection of dates on which the collection can be made in your area.

Collections start at 6am and go on until around 3:30pm, so we request that you put your items out for collection the night before.
