Briton Ferry and Cymmer Recycling Centre: Black Bag Changes
Please make sure there are no recyclable materials in your black bags before disposing of them in the waste skips at our recycling centres.
You need to remove recyclable materials from your black bags before you bring them to the site. Examples include:
- Paper
- Cardboard
- Cans
- Glass
- Plastics
If you need help removing recyclable materials, site operatives will help you when you arrive.
Why are we making these changes?
- The new recycling targets we have been given by the Welsh Government requires us to recycle 64% of Waste by 2019/2020 and 70% by 2025.
- Recent analysis of black bag waste shows that just over 60% of the household waste in black bags can be recycled.
- Black bag waste that contains recyclable material is costly to dispose of. Sorting it before you bring it not only helps us achieve our next recycling targets but will save money as well.
