Recycling Centres remain open
There are significant safety measures in place to help maintain the safety and welfare of staff and visitors to the site.
In the interests of public safety, only arrange to use these facilities if you are no longer able to safely store the excess waste at home.
You must have booked a slot before you visit Briton Ferry or Cymmer recycling centres
NPT residents in the Swansea Valley area are able to use the HWRC at Lower Cwmtwrch. Please ensure you check their revised procedures before visiting.
Rules for visiting during lockdown
- You must have booked a 15 minute slot using our online booking system before your visit
- Respect staff whilst on or waiting to access the site
- Proof of residency will be required
- Only one person per vehicle will generally be allowed. If this is not possible, only one person should exit the vehicle
- Staff will provide direction and advice in line with social distancing guidelines. They will not be able to help with unloading
- Parking bays will be closed off on an alternating basis to achieve social distancing
- Extra signage and barriers will be in place to help enforce social distancing

The Reuse Shop will be closed until further notice
- From 3rd August, you will be asked to open any black bags and sort the contents for recycling. To save time on site, we suggest that you sort your waste before you arrive.
- If someone in your household is affected by Coronavirus, any waste from your house will need to be handled carefully. You need to double bag all contaminated items, and keep the bags for three days.

You don't need to call us to cancel a booking, just click on 'cancel your booking' in your confirmation email which you received when you booked.
Along with regular cleaning of ‘touch points’, HWRC sites will be cleansed during and at the end of each day.
Vans, Pick-ups and trailers
Householders with vans, pick-ups and double axle trailers can access recycling centres at Briton Ferry and Cymmer. You must have booked a permit and allocated time slot. This can be done below.
- Single axle trailers can also access the recycling centres but permits are not required.
- A permit is not required for cars, jeeps (4x4s), camper vans, family type mini buses, MPV's, single axle trailers, or hire vans but you will still need to book a time slot.
- Tipper/ Flatbed' vans and large 7.5t vans are not allowed on site
- Residents are allowed a maximum of 12 permits per year (from 1st April to 31st March the following year for all vans, pick-up vehicles and double axle trailers.
