Description

I am a 68 year old man living in the Glynneath area with my wife.

I have a good sense of humour and a good supply of jokes. I love rugby and football and used to enjoy fishing, playing golf and riding motorbikes. 

I was also quite handy and liked doing DIY.

Since my accident, I have lost a little confidence and would like a PA to spend time with me to allow me to start doing hobbies I enjoy. Such as, going out for food and to get back out into my community. I would also like to go to Stroke Group in Seven Sisters on a Tuesday morning. 

Purpose

  • Helping me get out into the community.
  • Spending time with me in my home.
  • Helping me get back into the hobbies I used to enjoy.
  • Helping me find new things to do and places to go.
  • Helping me with my personal care.
  • Helping me transfer in and out of my vehicle
  • Helping me in to my WAV (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle).
  • Drive my WAV (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle). 
  • Hoisting me on to my commode, wheelchair and bed (where required). 
  • Any other reasonable duties. 

Person Type

I am looking for someone who:

  • Is patient, understanding, easy going and who has a good sense of humour
  • Will take the time to get to know me
  • Will work with me to develop and maintain my independence
  • Can support and encourage me in the home and out and about
  • Can support with personal care tasks in a discrete and professional manner
  • Will treat me with dignity and respect.
  • Is a car driver with access to a vehicle is essential.
  • Confident in supporting me in and out of my vehicle, and hoisting etc. 

Hours

8 hours a week.

Hours to be worked flexibly.

Exact days and times will be agreed by mutual consent in advance.

Rate of Pay: £13.45

This post is subject to a trial period. Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly basis (National Insurance Number required). You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement. You may be required to undertake identified training relative to the post.
