I am a 63-year-old man living in Margam. I have Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy. I also have a slight sensory impairment and speech impediment. I am able to walk short distances but use a wheelchair when out for long periods. I am very sociable and love to be out and about. I enjoy watching football on telly and going to see Swansea City play. I enjoy bowling, going to the cinema and out with social groups. I also try to go to the gym.

I am looking for a COVER PA to support me while my current PA’s are off. Job share welcome.

• Taking me to the local libraries to attend the groups.
• Support me to attend the gym.
• Take me to woodwork class.
• Go for lunch and coffee.
• Assisting me when out and about and while doing activities.
• MALE PA preferred for occasional support with personal care.
• Willing to undergo wheelchair training.
• Any other reasonable duties.

A person who is:

• Car driver is ESSENTIAL
• MALE PA preferred due to personal care aspect
• Someone friendly, chatty and sociable
• Someone who will promote my independence and treat me with respect
• Someone able to work flexibly
• Previous experience preferred  

5 hours every Friday from 09th May to 01st Aug.

To be worked from 10am to 3pm (times flexible).

Block cover from Mon 30th June to Fri 11th July.

To be worked Mon to Thurs, with a possibility of the Fridays, if not already covered.

Hours will be 10am to 3pm (times flexible).

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
