Description

I am a 14 year old girl who is non-verbal and I communicate via an assisted augmentative device (AAC). I enjoy sensory input and playing on my trampoline and swing. I am looking for a PA to support me at home. This would include helping me with washing, dressing, toileting and medication. I have good mobility and do not require any support with this.

I like cheeky and fun people that don’t mind being a bit mischievous, but I also need people who can be firm with me when needed, as if I feel frustrated or upset I can be a little challenging.    

Purpose

  • Supporting me in my home environment.  
  • Playing with me in my home environment.
  • Helping me develop my social skills.
  • Support when experiencing challenging behaviour.
  • Support with personal care, toileting and medication.

Person Type

A person who:

  • Has experience of working with children with challenging behavior.
  • Is chatty.
  • Has a calm nature.
  • Is flexible and reliable.
  • Preferably has meds training, although training can be provided.

Hours

12 hours a week to be used as 6pm to Midnight on a Tuesday and 6pm to Midnight on a Saturday.

The post is to start in the first week of June.

This post may require a DBS check (the cost of which will be met by NPTCBC). If this post requires you to work with children then it is compulsory for you to have a DBS check prior to commencement.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
