Public thanked for feedback on Neath Transport Hub proposal

The views expressed in the consultation which ran from 30th April to 11th June 2025 are now being collated and a report will be presented to the council for consideration.

The results from the survey questionnaires and the feedback received at the public engagement events are being analysed to understand the level of support for the project and any concerns relating to the proposals.

A council spokesperson said: “We appreciate the time and effort taken to provide valuable feedback, including attendance at the three drop-in sessions. This feedback will help us explore potential adjustments to our proposals.

“We want to ensure the final proposal aligns with people’s needs and expectations while achieving the objectives of a transport hub in Neath town centre.

“Your input is crucial to us and we are committed to addressing any concerns thoughtfully and thoroughly.

“We are committed to delivering investment into Neath and ensuring that any changes to the transport system maximise the benefits for all, while minimising any negative impacts in both the short and longer term.”

The council will produce a detailed report based on the feedback and aims to provide further updates as soon as possible. The public will have another opportunity to comment on the evolved proposal once any planning application is submitted.

The Welsh Government considers this scheme to be of high priority to deliver its aspirations for a better connected Wales and therefore has allocated funding for the design and development stage of the scheme to date.

The results of the public consultation will also be considered within the business case for the scheme and used to evaluate the objectives of the project to ensure the requirements and needs of the local community are being met.
