Local places for nature
With help from Welsh Government funding, we’ve made places better for nature in Neath Port Talbot.
What we have achieved
We’ve used the funding to deliver a wide range of impactful nature recovery projects:
Urban nature reserves
Created ‘Stepping Stones Nature Reserves’ to bring more wildlife into towns and cities
Meadow restoration
Created and restored wildflower meadows to support biodiversity
Species conservation
Protected rare species like the Blue Ground Beetle in Skewen
Community-led action
Supported local initiatives such as toad patrols
Working together for nature
These projects are delivered in partnership with the NPT Local Nature Partnership to:
- help build a more resilient natural environment
- encourage local communities to get involved in protecting and celebrating nature.
