A Celebration of Richard and Philip Burton at Taibach Community Education Centre

Join us at Taibach Community Education Centre for a special screening of ‘Mr Burton’ and a Q&A on the making of the film with Professor Angela John! Wednesday 4 March, 6pm-9.30pm Taibach Community Education Centre, Margam Road, Port Talbot Ticket cost: £3.00 plus 30p booking fee Thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, we’re holding a special evening to celebrate Richard Burton and the role that our community centre played in his life when it was Eastern School. In the hall where Richard learnt to act, we’ll be screening 'Mr Burton', the 2024 film about Philip Burton's influence on his career. We'll also be joined by the esteemed historian Professor Angela John, author of Behind the Scenes: The Dramatic Lives of Philip Burton, who was a consultant on the film. We’ll have a Q&A session on the making of the film and the fascinating career of Philip Burton. Angela John will be signing copies of her book, newly out in paperback, at the event.
