Notice of Election - Senedd Cymru Election for the Afan Ogwr Rhondda Constituency

1. An Election is to be held for Members to serve in the Senedd for the Afan Ogwr Rhondda constituency.
2. Nomination papers can be obtained from the office of the Returning Officer, Electoral Services, First Floor, Room 234, Civic Centre, Port Talbot, SA13 1PJ or electronically via nominations@npt.gov.uk from Thursday 26 March 2026 until 4:00pm on Thursday 9 April 2026.
3. Nomination papers may be delivered to the Returning Officer at Electoral Services, First Floor, Room 234, Civic Centre, Port Talbot, SA13 1PJ between 9:00am and 5:00pm on any working day from the date of publication of this notice (excluding bank holidays), or electronically as per the arrangements set out in the electronic delivery statement overleaf, but not later than 4pm on Thursday 9 April 2026.
4. If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 7 May 2026.
5. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Monday 20 April 2026. Applications can be made online.
6. The deposit of £500 per individual candidate or the deposit of £500 for the first candidate on a party list, and £200 for each of the next five candidates on the party list. The deposit can be paid by legal tender (cash), a banker’s draft cheque or by bank transfer (subject to prior notification)..
7. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the relevant Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday 21 April 2026.
8. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the relevant Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026.
   
9. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the relevant Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Thursday 7 May 2026.
