Register to vote
You can no longer register to vote in the elections on 7 May 2026. You can still register for future elections and referendums.
You can register to vote online.
You'll need your:
- address
- date of birth
- National Insurance Number
This information is required by law.
If you are not registered, you cannot vote in elections.
The register is used by credit reference agencies. If you are not registered you may find it difficult to get:
- credit
- loans
- phone contracts
- a mortgage
- a bank account
