Cryddan Brook, Melyn

Current flood risks

  • The intake structure at St Catherine’s Close often overtops. This results in flooding to the A474 road between Neath and Briton Ferry.
  • The main line railway behind Neath Castle Bingo is at constant risk of getting flooded. The culvert underneath the rail-line needs improving, to handle flooding up to and including the 1% Annual Exceedance Probability (AEP).
