Investigations into flooding
As the Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) for Neath Port Talbot, we must investigate every flood event that occurs in the Borough. After our investigation, we have a duty to publish a flood report.
When a flood happens, the LLFA must find out who is responsible and check if they have taken or plan to take action.
The results of the investigation must be published and relevant authorities notified.
We must produce a report if:
- five or more properties are flooded
- the floodwater comes from two or more sources
- we decide a report is needed
These reports usually include:
- background information on the location
- a summary and analysis of the rainfall event
- information on the extent of the flooding
- detailed investigation findings
- roles and responsibilities of each risk management authority and their actions
- recommended actions from the investigation
-
a summary and analysis of the rainfall event
The results of each flood investigation will be published and can be found below.
