Electric vehicle infrastructure
Importance of electric vehicles (EVs)
Transport is the third largest carbon-emitting sector in Wales.
Electric Vehicles (EVs) play a crucial role in our sustainable future.
Here are some key reasons why they are important:
- air quality improvement - EVs are essential for better air quality in Neath Port Talbot
- combat climate change - EVs cut transport emissions, helping us reach Net-Zero by 2050
- increased demand - this will increase the demand for accessible charging points
Our goals
To achieve our vision we have set the following goals:
- smart charging stations - build smart charging stations and the needed infrastructure
- research program - support this with more research, including future business ideas for EV charging stations
Pricing
Neath Port Talbot Council follows public sector rules for setting prices.
We must provide charging points at certain prices.
Our charging costs are similar to the national average
We are always trying to make charging cheaper.
