Winter disruptions to services

Council staff have been working hard since Friday night to deal with the impact of Storm Darragh. This will continue throughout today, and our teams will prioritise the most urgent issues first, e.g. trees that have fallen and are blocking or partially blocking roads, and reports of dangerous structures. 

There are likely to be number of unidentified fallen or dangerous trees around the borough so please take extra care.

Existing road closures

Current road closures include:

  • Park lane, Blaengwynfi 

Follow Traffic Wales South for updates across the Trunk Road and Motorway network 

Roads re-opened

  • A4067 North of Asda roundabout - large tree blocking both sides  
  • A4067 near Trebanos 
  • A4107 between Ynys y Gwas hill and Cymmer depot 
  • B4242 from Aberdulais to Glynneath 
  • B4434 at Tonclwyda in Clyne, Neath Valley - currently closed from Tonna to Resolven. 
  • Greenwood Road, Baglan  
  • M4 junction 37 Pyle to 38 Margam 
  • Queen Street, Neath
  • Road at Cilybebyll, Rhos SA8 3JD 
  • Waterfall Road, Resolven
  • Wind Street, Neath 

Cemeteries, parks and gardens

The following remain closed as work continues to remove fallen trees
