Vehicle seizures

We can seize vehicles, trailers or mobile plants that are:

• used for fly-tipping
• driven by someone who is not a registered waste carrier
• used to transfer waste to someone who is not registered as a waste carrier

After we've seized a vehicle

When we seize a vehicle we post a notice on our website and in our offices within a day. We also tell the police and the vehicle owner.

We can keep the vehicle for up to 15 working days to investigate.

If we start a court case, we may keep the vehicle for the duration of the case.
