What we do

Our team

We have 12 Educational Psychologists registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

They visit early years communities and schools to identify and support the needs of:

The number of visits allocated to a school depends on the size of the school and level of need.

Support for pupils and schools

Our role is to help schools identify and support pupil's needs early. We do this through:

  • regular consultations with schools and organisations
  • talking with parents and carers
  • individual assessment and observation
  • problem solving sessions
  • staff training and development
  • therapeutic work
  • research and policy advice

This support helps to explore any barriers between the pupil's learning and wellbeing.

Complex needs pupils

For pupils with more complex needs, we provide direct support through:

  • assessments
  • tailored interventions

How to access us

Before requesting support from us you should talk with your child's teacher first.

They know your child and may find early ways to help them.

If needed, the teacher will contact the school's Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNCo). They can:

  • provide further guidance
  • work with us if needed

We do not operate a waiting list. We make sure help reaches those who need it most.
