Support for school staff
We provide counselling and professional supervision for school staff in Neath Port Talbot.
We take a whole school approach to support mental health and wellbeing.
Counselling
Counselling is free and confidential for school staff, providing individual support to:
- explore and discuss their concerns or distress at work or home
- help them better understand their difficulties
- explore potential resolutions
Counselling sessions
We offer up to six counselling sessions. The sessions can help with many difficult life or work related problems.
Concerns you may wish to discuss could include (but are not limited to):
- family or relationships
- feelings of anxiety
- finding balance
- loss and grief
- low mood
- mental health
- self-care
- stress
Counselling session availability
We deliver sessions online via Microsoft Teams to maximise capacity.
You may receive a quicker service during school hours due to higher availability.
Sessions are available between 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
Supervision
Our staff supervision service allows school senior management and pastoral staff to:
- up-skill in their pastoral role
- increase their confidence in supporting pupils
- enhance their capacity as a reflective practitioner
- discuss relevant issues with their role
- find resolutions
- reflect on their wellbeing and ways of working
Supervision sessions occur monthly and are confidential.
Training
We provide training and bespoke workshops to help school staff.
Delivered by trained professional counsellors and supervisors, our courses and workshops promote:
- good mental health
- personal and professional growth
- effective management of daily challenges
- ways of supporting pupils around specific concerns
