About the Additional Learning Needs Support Service
Who we support
We support children and young people aged 0-25 with identified Additional Learning Needs (ALN) to:
- maximise their potential at school
- succeed in their education
What we do
We provide various functions related to:
We support children and young people with ALN, and their families by:
- considering requests for a Local Authority (LA) Maintained Individual Development Plan (IDP)
- creation and maintenance of IDPs
- considering recommendations made in Person Centred Reviews (PCRs) of IDPs
- providing impartial ALN support, advice and guidance to pupils, parents/carers and schools
- providing transition support for pupils with ALN at key points in their education
