Supply Chain Transition Fund

The Supply Chain Transition Fund supports Welsh businesses within the Tata Steel UK supply chain or contractors impacted by changes to steelmaking at Port Talbot.

Its aim is to help businesses remain resilient, protect jobs, and prepare for future opportunities, with a particular focus on manufacturing, engineering, ICT, construction, fabrication, and renewable energy sectors.

The Fund has two strands:

  • Business Support Grants of between £2,500 and £50,000, funded at 100% (net of VAT), to support day to day overheads costs and other revenue and capital expenditure such as marketing, feasibility studies, IT or system upgrades.
  • Capital Grants of between £50,001 and £250,000, funded at a 70% intervention rate, for investments such as plant, machinery, IT infrastructure, renewable energy systems, or property improvements.

Businesses can apply for both strands, up to a combined maximum grant of £300,000.

Applicants must complete a Business Wales diagnostic and have a survival or growth strategy in place.
