We have made it easier to get the information you need from the council — just by asking Alexa.
With our new Alexa skill, you can check:
- when to put your bins out for collection
- what items are due for collection
- school term dates and holidays
- if there are any school closures
- the latest council news
This is just the beginning. More services will be added soon.
How to access the skill
- Open the Alexa app on your smart device
- Navigate to the 'More' option (on some devices this may appear as three lines next to the 'home' and 'Devices' icons
- Choose 'Skills & Games'
- Search for 'NPT Council', the skill should be the first result
- Click on enable and follow on screen instructions
- Enable permissions
- Launch skill and select the device you want to try
You will need to make sure you have your address setup within your Alexa device to obtain local information and provide details such as bin collection date.
