How We Recruit
From candidate to colleague, here's how
We want everyone to feel welcome and fairly treated at Team NPT - and that starts before you join us.
Our application process can vary depending on the role you are applying for, but in all cases, we aim to be open, fair and objective throughout the entire recruitment journey.
We are an equal opportunities employer, so if you need any support or assistance at any point in the application process, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call our Employment Support Team on 01639 686837. We will be very happy to make any reasonable adjustments you need.
Our four stage application process
All our vacancies are listed on our Search & Apply page. All applicants must complete an online application form before the published closing date. We can accept manual applications if you are unable to complete one online.
The recruiting manager will shortlist the applicants they want to take to the next stage. They will consider all the qualifications, experience and skills the role needs in coming to their decision. We will let you know the outcome if you are not successful at this stage.
We will invite you to interview with us – this could be face-to-face or virtually, via Microsoft Teams. In your interview invitation we’ll let you know who will be interviewing you and if there are any additional tasks for your interview such as presentations or assessments.
4. Compliance and Vetting
If you are successful and you are offered a role in Team NPT, we will carry out pre-employment checks. These checks vary from role to role but will include right-to-work checks and references. We may also conduct a DBS check, driving licence check or professional bodies verification. If there are any other checks required for a particular role, we will let you know what these are as part of the recruitment process.
If we can offer any support or assistance at any point in the application process, please email email@example.com or call 01639 686837. We wish you the very best of luck!

We want to make the recruitment process as transparent as possible to help you relax so that you can perform at your best. If you have a question at any stage, please don’t be afraid to ask!
Please refer to the advertisement wording and the ‘essential’ requirements specified within the job description and person specification documentation.
Yes. For some jobs, such as personal care or being the key holder of a property, you need to be over a certain minimum age. If this is the case, we’ll always make it clear on the job advertisement.
We carry out pre-employment checks at the conditional offer stage. These checks depend on the job you’ve applied for. They could include references, a DBS check, qualifications and proof to work in the UK. For any job you apply for, you must declare any unspent convictions at the point of applying. For spent convictions, this will depend on the job you’re applying for. Further information and advice can be found on Nacro’s website.
This really depends on the role you’re applying for. Typically, the recruitment process can take anywhere between four and six weeks depending on the pre-employment checks required.
References will be sought upon conditional offer stage. However, we may request references for school positions at the interview stage of the process.
You can apply for as many positions as you wish.
Yes. We’ll notify you if you’ve been unsuccessful at the shortlisting stage. We will also offer you feedback if you’re unsuccessful at interview stage.
You may amend your interview timeslot prior to an interview booking end date (this is stipulate by the recruiting manager) using your original interview booking email confirmation. Alternatively, call the recruiting manager (telephone contact details will be in your original interview booking email) to change your slot.
