    I'm a lady in my late 60s, a retired bookseller, living in Cilmaengwyn.

    I live a quiet and gentle life. I enjoy reading, meditation, gardening, being in nature, and birdwatching.

    9 hours for the first week of July

  • DPSS415 - Personal Assistant - Seven Sisters - 5 hours per week

    I am a lady in my 50s living in the Seven Sisters area of Neath and mobilise using my wheelchair. I enjoy doing craft activities, playing scrabble on my DS and completing jigsaws. During the evenings I like to listen to music. I am looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to support me to attend the stroke group in the Melin area of Neath on a Tuesday.

    Hours of Work: 5 per week.

    Tuesdays (the time to be discussed during interview.)

     

  • DPSS606 - Personal Assistant - 6 hours per week (plus 10 hours in school holidays) - Glyncorrwg

    I am a 7 year old boy living in Glyncorrwg. I enjoy being on my tablet, going for walks and going to indoor play areas. I am very interested in Dinosaurs and like Disney’s Cars. I love playing in water.

    I am Autistic. I have Global Development Delay and I have very little speech, but I am able to tell you what I want by pointing and leading you. I have a fun and cheeky personality but I can get frustrated easily. I experience challenging behaviour. I am very sensory and I like hugs.

    I am looking for a PA to support me in going out to places I enjoy, such as Indoor play areas, Wiggleys Farm, going for walks up The Gnoll and Margam Park, and to the Splash Park down Aberavon beach front when the weather is nice. I also like going for a drive in the car.

    The PA will need to support me with toileting and continence aid changes.

    The PA will need to be confident, calm and consistent in their approach, as well as vigilant as I have no safety awareness.

    The PA will need to be patient but firm, as I have no understanding of time, or when an activity is due to end.

    6 hours during term time to be worked on a Saturday or Sunday after 10am.

    10 hours during school holidays – days and times flexible.

  • DPSS381 - Personal Assistant - Seven Sisters - 12 Hours Per week

    I am a man in my mid 20’s living in the Seven Sisters area. I have Autism and learning difficulties. I enjoy swimming, bike ability, walking, bowling, trampolining and being active. I enjoy going out in my local community on the bus. I need 1:1 support at all times. I have limited communication and can get anxious in new social situations. I also need some support in the house with Daily Living Tasks.

     

    12 per week

    Rate of pay is £12.00 per hour.

     

  • DPSS554 - Personal Assistant - Neath - 4 hours per week (maternity cover)

    I am a 39 year old woman living in the Neath area.  I enjoy listening to music.  My kids are very important to me so my time is spent with them making sure they are ok. I am looking for a PA to start in January to cover maternity leave until approx. Sept 2025. The PA would support me to prepare healthy meals in the slow cooker for me and my family. The PA is to work with me so I can maintain my independence.

    MATERNITY COVER – to start in January 2025 until approx. September 2025

    4 hours to be used as 2 hours on a Tues and 2 hours on a Thurs, from 10:30am to 12:30

  • DPSS257 - Personal Assistant - Margam - 6 hours per week

    I am a young man in my 20s living in the Margam area with my dad.  I am a very active young man and like to keep busy. I love meeting people and am very sociable, even though I’m non-verbal I can still communicate what I want to you. I enjoy going to a day service and enjoy going on public transport, especially for a ride around on the bus. When I’m at home I enjoy playing games on my computer and iPad. I have a 3-wheeled bike that I like to ride regularly. I enjoy going to parks and visiting The Gnoll and Margam Park.  I have an interest in buses and like to visit the Bus Museum and Swansea Bus Station.  I do not like loud noises i.e., hand dryers, vacuuming, mowing, power tools and motorbikes. I’m looking for a PA to join my team and pick up the evening shifts so my dad can get on with chores like making dinner.

    6 hours per week.

    Between Monday and Friday 5pm - 6:30pm (1.5 hours each evening). 

  • DPSS632 - Personal Assistant - 6 hours per week - Sandfields

    I am a 16 year old girl living with my family in the Sandfields area of Port Talbot. I have Sanfilippo Syndrome which is a rare condition that has affected my cognitive development. The condition is degenerative so my needs will increase in future. I am non-verbal. I am not very active anymore and require support with hoisting and transferring. I am doubly incontinent. I love being around people, especially people who are enthusiastic and chatty. I love Disney, especially Shrek and Tangled! I am peg feed and medication is administered in the same way.

    6 hours a week

    Hours to be worked Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday evenings 3:30pm – 5:30pm.

    Hours may vary from time to time.

    My PA will be part of a team of 2 PA's who will work together to support me.

  • DPSS266 - Personal Assistant - 11 hours per week - Cimla

    I am a gentleman in my 80s living in the Cimla area. Following an accident many years ago I have an acquired brain injury which affects my memory and concentration. I am also now living with mixed dementia which often impacts on my long-term coping strategies I have relied upon to manage my acquired brain injury over the years. I struggle to retain information and must be repeatedly reminded and prompted. As a result, my routine is very important to me and I find disruption to my routine very unsettling.

    I am an active man and enjoy going out and about in the community where I am known well at the shops and cafes I frequent. I am very fit and need a PA who can keep up with me about town. I enjoy talking about my sporting achievements from my successful athletic career prior to my accident. I often talk about my beloved wife who I sadly lost and miss dearly. I enjoy getting out every morning, I like to eat breakfast out, I enjoy a flutter at the betting office, and watching sports on the television with my daily newspapers by my side is very important to me. 

    11hrs per week

    • Friday 8:00 – 14:00 (6hrs)
    • Saturday 09:00 – 14:00 (5hrs)

    Additional cover hours may be offered from time to time.

  • DPSS644 - Personal Assistant - 3 hours per week - Clyne

    92 year old gentleman

    I was born in Clyne and still live in clyne at present and I have fond memories of growing up and living in this area. I have been married for 60 years and have a close and loving relationship with my wife. I have 2 children, and 3 granddaughters, who I enjoy spending time with.

    I have worked in a car garage as an auto electrician and I also done national service in the army.

    I have always enjoyed sports, and previously played bowls and golf but now enjoys watching the rugby and snooker on TV. I also enjoy attending to the garden and will often potter around the house fixing things and maintaining my home.

    3 hours per week every Thursday 11am until 2pm. accompanying me to a local singing group in cwmgwrach.

  • DPSS653 - Personal Assistant - 4 hours per week - Port Talbot

    I am a 5 year old boy living in Port Talbot. I have Autism and a learning difficulty. I am non-verbal. I have no sense of danger and will run off, so I need to have constant supervision. I can become overstimulated which can cause me to have challenging behaviour, and I will hit out and make loud noises.

    I am looking for a PA to take me outside for walks, to the parks, and outdoor/ indoor play areas.

    4 hours on a weekend or 2 hours on a Sunday anytime and 2 hours on a Tuesday from 4pm to 6pm (can be flexible)
