DPSS606 - Personal Assistant - 6 hours per week (plus 10 hours in school holidays) - Glyncorrwg

I am a 7 year old boy living in Glyncorrwg. I enjoy being on my tablet, going for walks and going to indoor play areas. I am very interested in Dinosaurs and like Disney’s Cars. I love playing in water.

I am Autistic. I have Global Development Delay and I have very little speech, but I am able to tell you what I want by pointing and leading you. I have a fun and cheeky personality but I can get frustrated easily. I experience challenging behaviour. I am very sensory and I like hugs.

I am looking for a PA to support me in going out to places I enjoy, such as Indoor play areas, Wiggleys Farm, going for walks up The Gnoll and Margam Park, and to the Splash Park down Aberavon beach front when the weather is nice. I also like going for a drive in the car.

The PA will need to support me with toileting and continence aid changes.

The PA will need to be confident, calm and consistent in their approach, as well as vigilant as I have no safety awareness.

The PA will need to be patient but firm, as I have no understanding of time, or when an activity is due to end.

6 hours during term time to be worked on a Saturday or Sunday after 10am.

10 hours during school holidays – days and times flexible.

DPSS257 - Personal Assistant - Margam - 6 hours per week

I am a young man in my 20s living in the Margam area with my dad.  I am a very active young man and like to keep busy. I love meeting people and am very sociable, even though I’m non-verbal I can still communicate what I want to you. I enjoy going to a day service and enjoy going on public transport, especially for a ride around on the bus. When I’m at home I enjoy playing games on my computer and iPad. I have a 3-wheeled bike that I like to ride regularly. I enjoy going to parks and visiting The Gnoll and Margam Park.  I have an interest in buses and like to visit the Bus Museum and Swansea Bus Station.  I do not like loud noises i.e., hand dryers, vacuuming, mowing, power tools and motorbikes. I’m looking for a PA to join my team and pick up the evening shifts so my dad can get on with chores like making dinner.

6 hours per week

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 5pm – 7pm

Exact start times can be flexible and negotiated at interview.

Some additional hours may be offered from time to time to cover my other PA; these hours will normally be on a weekend.

DPSS632 - Personal Assistant - 6 hours per week - Sandfields

I am a 16 year old girl living with my family in the Sandfields area of Port Talbot. I have Sanfilippo Syndrome which is a rare condition that has affected my cognitive development. The condition is degenerative so my needs will increase in future. I am non-verbal. I am not very active anymore and require support with hoisting and transferring. I am doubly incontinent. I love being around people, especially people who are enthusiastic and chatty. I love Disney, especially Shrek and Tangled! I am peg feed and medication is administered in the same way.

6 hours a week

Hours to be worked Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday evenings 3:30pm – 5:30pm.

Hours may vary from time to time.

My PA will be part of a team of 2 PA's who will work together to support me.

DPSS644 - Personal Assistant - 3 hours per week - Clyne

I am a 92 year old gentleman who was born in Clyne and still live in Clyne. I have fond memories of growing up and living in this area. I have been married for 60 years and have a close and loving relationship with my wife. I have 2 children, and 3 granddaughters, who I enjoy spending time with.

I have worked in a car garage as an auto electrician and I also done national service in the army.

I have always enjoyed sports, and previously played bowls and golf but now enjoys watching the rugby and snooker on TV. I also enjoy attending to the garden and will often potter around the house fixing things and maintaining my home.

3 hours each Thursday; 11AM - 2PM. to accompany me to a local singing group in Cwmgrach. 

DPSS657 - Personal Assistant - 4 hours per week - Neath

I am a 13 year old boy living in central Neath.  I have a diagnosis ADHD and ASD.  I love gaming on my computer, bowling, going to the beach, the cinema and to Porthcawl arcades.  I also enjoy going into town and spending my money in The Works and Poundland.

4 hours per week to be worked over 2 days a week. No set days but after school hours at 4pm.  During half term times can change to earlier in the day.

DPSS517 - 28.5 hours per week (job share welcome) - Cilfrew

I am a gentleman in my 50s living in the Cilfrew area with my pet dog. I love music, especially country rock. I enjoy all sports, films and I’m an animal lover. I have a very good sense of humour. I worked for many years in industry and I’m now a keen woodworker and make my own furniture. I also make a lot of items from resin. I have Parkinson’s which affects my mobility. I have Dystonia which causes my limbs to lock up. I am looking for a Personal Assistant to support me with massaging the muscles when the Dystonia affects me, helping me with transfers when my mobility is bad, prompting with medication and prompting with personal care, supporting with making meals, light domestic duties

28.5 hours per week – job share welcome.

 

These hours will be used as: 

 

2 x day shifts from 9am to 5pm

1 x night shift from 9:30pm to 7am

 

Days to be agreed but can be flexible

DPSS658 - Personal Assistant - 5 hours per week - Pontardawe

I am a 22 year old young man living within the pontardawe area. I am a character, who is very happy go lucky and I am also very caring. I have a good sense humour, and I really enjoy listening to stories. I enjoy football. I like to go for food. I enjoy bowling, the Cinema and also walking.

5 hours per week flexible

DPSS654 - Personal Assistant - 8 hours per week - Baglan

I am a 41 year old man living in the Baglan area with my family and small dog. Following a accident, I have reduced mobility and I experience back pain and weakness in my limbs. This in turn causes me to feel frustrated and low in mood. I also have anxiety and significant depression. I am very direct but I am also a very caring and creative person. I enjoy photography and art and I have many tattoos which I have done myself. I am an ex-rugby player and I love watching Rugby matches. I have a wide taste in music and enjoy going to concerts and festivals.  I am looking for a PA to support me with watching the local rugby matches, support me with going shopping, taking the dog for a walk with me and support me with my mental health. I use an electric wheelchair when accessing the community.

8 hours per week to be used flexibly

DPSS655 - Personal Assistant - 6 hours per week - Neath

I am a 16 year old boy living with my family and large dog in Neath. I am shy to start but very chatty and friendly once you get to know me. I can be cheeky and I like a joke, but I am also very direct and I have no filter.

I have Autism, ADHD, Oppositional Defiance Disorder and a language a learning disability. I suffer with my mental health which can lead to possible self harming. I can swear a lot when I’m angry and can become verbally abusive. I have asthma and also I am partially sighted in my right eye, which affects my reading but not my daily living.

I do enjoy playing the PlayStation and watching YouTube, but I am very energetic and mostly enjoy being out.

I am looking for a PA to take the time to get to know me, and support me with going out places I enjoy and carrying out activities I enjoy. This would include going for very long walks, going to the gym and on bike rides, visiting castles and ruins, going shopping and supporting me with my finances when we are out. The PA would need to correct me when I’m swearing and when I make inappropriate comments.

6 hours to be worked either on a Saturday, Sunday or Wednesday.

DPSS706 - Personal Assistant - 3 hours - Port Talbot

I am a 7 year old boy living in the central Port Talbot area. I live at home with my mum, dad and younger sister. I have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global developmental delay and a severe learning disability. I am non-verbal but I can communicate my needs. I like to be pushed along in my pushchair, taking in the sights around me. I also like to use the disability swings and the slide at the park. I also really like to look at waterfalls, go swimming and to the splash park at Aberavon beach. I am very active and will need my PA to match my energy. 

3 hours per week to be discussed during interview. 

Preferably at the weekend.
