  • Registering a birth or a death
  • Getting a copy of a birth, marriage, civil partnership, or death certificate

We also offer special ceremonies like:

  • Naming ceremonies
  • Memorials or celebrations of life

Deaths

To arrange an appointment to register or to discuss any matter relating to a recent death, please email registrars@npt.gov.uk or call 01639 760021

Funeral paperwork will be emailed directly to the relevant agencies

Births

Birth registration appointments are available to parent(s) of babies born in Neath Port Talbot district. Scheduled appointments are arranged after details for the registration have been gathered via a telephone call with the registrar.

We ask all new parents to provide us with mother’s name, child’s date of birth and contact telephone number to registrars@npt.gov.uk or contact 01639 760021.

Notices for marriage/civil partnership

We ask all couples who need to give notice to email us the date of ceremony, venue, names and contact telephone number or contact 01639 760021 should email not be possible.

Copy certificates

For Births, Deaths, Marriage, Civil Partnerships that occurred within Neath Port Talbot district, you should apply online or contact the Register Office by telephone on 01639 760021.

Office opening hours

9.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday

9.30am - 4.00pm Friday

Marriages are conducted in the Register Office:
6 days a week (Monday to Saturday)

Marriages are conducted in the approved premises:
7 days a week (including bank holidays)

 Historical records

A Historical Records Service is available for the issue of Family History Certificates. Our records date from 1837 to present.

Historical Records Service is also available from the West Glamorgan Archive Service
