Former Neath Library
An exciting opportunity has arisen for prospective operators to apply to the Council to express an interest in their proposed use for the Former Neath Library, located in Victoria Gardens, Neath.
The Former Neath Library closed in March 2023, following the opening of the new library within the newly built leisure and retail development in Neath Town Centre. The building, a Grade II listed property constructed in 1904, is a prominent and historic feature of the town.
The Council is currently exploring refurbishment options and is seeking to engage with a preferred operator at an early stage. The successful operator will be offered the opportunity to lease and manage the building, bringing forward a viable and sustainable use.
Please note the current planning use class is D1 (non-residential institutions) and planning permission will be required for any alternative use outside of this classification.
Interested parties are invited to submit an Expression of Interest outlining their proposed use for the building, including how it aligns with planning requirements and contributes to the vibrancy of Neath Town Centre.
Expressions of Interest need to be submitted by 12 noon on the 10th October 2025 via an email to a.nicholas@npt.gov.uk
