Council Tax scam email
We have been made aware of a scam email being sent to some residents. It claims that a credit has been recorded against your Council Tax account
This email is not genuine. It may attempt to obtain personal information, financial details, or persuade recipients to click on malicious links or open attachments.
Do not
- click on any links contained in the email
- open any attachments
- provide any personal, banking or account information
Do
- forward suspicious emails to report@phishing.gov.uk
- delete suspicious emails
Scammers often make their emails appear legitimate by using official logos, branding, or familiar wording. Always take a moment to verify unexpected communications before taking any action.
