Important travel update - Fabian Way drainage works

02 July 2025

Essential drainage improvement works will begin today (2nd July) on Fabian Way between Jersey Marine Junction (Amazon Roundabout) and the M4 slip road.

Both lanes will remain open during peak times, although a reduced speed limit will apply at all times for both lanes.

A 40mph speed limit will be in place until 21st July  at which point it will be lowered to 30mph until the works finish in December.

During non-peak times (9.30-15.00), one lane will be closed whilst contractors work on the highway.

Both lanes will remain open this weekend (5-6th July) to accommodate traffic travelling to the Wales Airshow.

Thank you for your patience while we carry out this important work. Every effort will be made to minimise disruption and maintain traffic flow where possible.

These works are being delivered with support from The Welsh Government's Resilient Road Fund (RRF) to address persistent flooding issues that regularly affect the eastbound carriageway, cycle path and laybys during periods of heavy rainfall  — helping to improve safety and reduce disruption in the long term.
