Schools in Neath Port Talbot celebrate GCSE results
21 August 2025
Pupils in Neath Port Talbot have been rewarded for their efforts with results which fully reflect the commitment, determination and application they have put in over many years.
GCSE and vocational qualification performance in 2025 is again strong with a majority of pupils in Neath Port Talbot achieving at least 5 A*-C GCSE grades or equivalent.
Overall, the standards achieved by the year 11 cohort of 2025 are good and are a clear reward of pupils’ hard work throughout their school careers.
Councillor Nia Jenkins, Cabinet Member for Education and Early Years said: “I would like to congratulate all our pupils on their success. I am assured that pupils can take their key stage 4 qualifications onto their next phase of education, employment or training.”
Council Leader, Cllr Steve Hunt, said: “The dedication and hard work shown by our pupils is truly inspiring. I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who have supported them to achieve their results. Their families, parents, school staff and communities must also be immensely proud of their achievements, and I wish them the best of luck on the next step of their journey.”
For pupils seeking guidance on their next steps, Neath Port Talbot Council’s Employment Support Team will be hosting drop-in advice sessions at the Opportunity Hub in Aberavon Shopping Centre on Wednesday 27th August, from 10am to 3pm.
Advisors from NPT Employability, the Youth Service, Careers Wales, and apprenticeship support services will be available to offer advice and support. No appointment is necessary.
Alternatively, pupils can call 01639 860160 or email jobsupport@npt.gov.uk for further assistance.
