In today’s digital age, reliable mobile connectivity is essential for delivering efficient public services and ensuring that residents and businesses are not disadvantaged by poor or unreliable mobile coverage.

Neath Port Talbot Council partnered with Streetwave, a recognised provider of independent mobile coverage surveys. The study involved a drive‑by survey of the road network across the county borough, capturing mobile network performance as experienced at street level.

As part of this commissioned study, a public mobile coverage checker https://app.streetwave.co/coverage-checker/neath-port-talbot  has been made available. This provides residents and businesses with access to a public‑facing version of the survey results, allowing them to check mobile coverage in their local area.

The survey provides visibility of mobile operator coverage across Neath Port Talbot and complements other sources of information, including the Ofcom mobile coverage checker  https://www.ofcom.org.uk/mobile-coverage-checker  and mobile network operators’ own coverage maps, which are typically based on predicted models. By comparison, the Streetwave survey records real‑world performance, reflecting what users are likely to experience on the ground.
