Councillor Steve Hunt, Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council, said: “Results day represents the outcome of many years of commitment from pupils, teachers, parents and carers. Whether students are progressing to apprenticeships, university, further training or directly into employment, their qualifications provide an important foundation for their next steps, and we wish them every success for the future.”

Congratulating students and school staff, Councillor Nia Jenkins, Cabinet Member for Education and Early Years, added: “Many congratulations to all the pupils on what they have achieved across a wide range of vocational, technical and academic qualifications.

“I would also like to acknowledge and thank senior leaders, exams officers, support staff and teachers for the part they have played in supporting our young people with their studies. The strong learning foundation established at Key Stage 4 has helped more students continue their education beyond 16 with purpose, ambition and success.”

For students seeking guidance on their next steps, Neath Port Talbot Council’s Employment Support Team will be hosting drop-in advice sessions at The Opportunity Hub, Aberavon Shopping Centre and The Opportunity Hub at 8 Wind Street Neath, on Thursday 13th August, Friday 14th August, Thursday 20th August, and Friday 21st August.

Advisors will be available to offer advice and support. No appointment is necessary. Alternatively, students can call 01639 860160 or email jobsupport@npt.gov.uk for further assistance.
