Neath Port Talbot Council Approves Updated Capital Programme for 2026–2029

Neath Port Talbot Council has outlined the next phase of its Capital Strategy and Capital Programme for 2026/27 to 2028/29. Setting out how it will deliver the largest investment ever made into the county borough’s infrastructure. Services and regeneration.

Approved by Cabinet the programme demonstrates a long-term commitment to supporting communities through prudent financial planning and record levels of capital investment. As the next phase of the programme begins, funding will be directed towards maintaining and improving key buildings, delivering major regeneration projects, and ensuing essential public assets remain fit for purpose.

This unprecedented investment will help drive economic growth, improve local services and create lasting benefits for residents across Neath Port Talbot. 

Our updated capital programme for 2026/27 stands at £180.760m, reflecting successful bids for external funding and the Council’s strong track record in securing investment for local regeneration and infrastructure. 

The Council remains committed to delivering projects that strengthen our communities and improve the quality of life for residents across Neath Port Talbot. The projects are tracking as ahead of schedule. 

Councillor Simon Knoyle, Cabinet Member for Finance, Performance and Social Justice, said:
