Extended LiDAR Survey area

LiDAR (3D laser mapping) surveys across the area have been ongoing since August this year.

As discussed at the public meeting, the LiDAR survey area has been extended. You can access the revised Draft Hazard Map here, showing the area now being considered by the Earth Science Partnership.

The new survey area includes those areas previously noted as ‘awaiting LiDAR’ coloured light blue on the Draft Hazard Map presented at the public meeting, which can be accessed here.
The extended survey areas are:

  • North, just beyond Vine Row where there are signs of recent instability
  • West, to include the disused quarries, and
  • South, which includes properties north of Owens Lane, referred to as Godre’r Graig East within Pantteg village and part of the Godre’r Graig landslide area

Further areas south of Owens Lane that were part of the 2013 assessment will also be surveyed.
