You can register a death in both English and Welsh, but not in Welsh alone. The person registering the death must be a Welsh speaker.

Please inform the register office of this to ensure a Welsh-speaking registrar is available.

We offer an on call service for deaths which require burial within 24 hours.

You will need to contact the Funeral Director to make arrangements.

You must make an appointment to register a death. All appointments are face-to-face and take place at Neath Register Office.

You can contact us before booking your appointment if you are waiting to register a death. We will need:

• your name
• your contact details
• your relationship to the deceased
• the name of the deceased
• the date of death
• the place of death
• your chosen funeral directors
