Information you may need to provide
During your appointment
If available, we need to know certain information on the person who has died. This includes their:
- full name, including any other known names
- marriage or civil partnership certificates
- date and place of birth
- occupation
- address
- spouse or civil partner's full name and occupation (if applicable)
We also need to know:
- when and where they died
- the name of the funeral director conducting the funeral
- whether they are being buried or cremated
Corrections to death registrations
Check all information is correct before signing the register. Errors found after registration will need official correction and incur a statutory fee.
