Local Growth Fund (LGF)
Overview
The LGF is a £547 million fund that will support economic growth across Wales between 2026 and 2029.
The fund will invest in projects that:
- help businesses grow
- improve skills and employment opportunities
- deliver infrastructure that supports local economies
Eligible projects and activities
Business growth and innovation
The fund supports businesses to:
- grow and become more competitive
- develop new products and services
- invest in research and development (R&D)
- improve innovation and productivity
Skills and employment
The fund supports projects that:

support people who are out of work

provide training and skills development

help people overcome barriers to employment

improve access to employment opportunities
Infrastructure investment
The fund supports infrastructure that contributes to economic growth, including:
- business sites and premises
- culture, tourism and heritage assets
- transport infrastructure
- digital connectivity
- energy projects
Timelines
Projects funded through Year 1 of the Local Growth Fund in Neath Port Talbot are expected to run from June 2026 to March 2027.
